About Us

The Sengkang SF Quarterly is a Singapore-based zine dedicated to platforming bold speculative fiction and adjacent genre stories. The name and style harken back to the golden age of sci-fi where short fiction pioneered the art of creating narratives within imagined futures. We want to return to the genre's roots by supporting short stories that push the limits of human imagination using the frame of technology to entertain and examine. We are especially interested in platforming voices from the global south and other neglected perspectives.

Publisher/Editor-in-Chief: Zubin Jain

Zubin Jain(He/Him) has been a lifelong fan of speculative fiction and short stories. He has no formal training in editing, nor has any of his fiction been published(yet). As an ASIC engineer with regrets, he hopes to make penance by editing this magazine in his spare time.

Editor-Ajinkya Goyal

Ajinkya Goyal writes speculative and gothic fiction, along with smatterings of fluff and angst thrown in for good measure. Their work has been published in Creepy Pod, The Bitchin' Kitsch, The Junction, The Writing Cooperative, The Ascent, and more. He attempts a stab at the mortifying ordeal of being known on innocentlymacabre.com, and you can support his work on ko-fi.com/ajinkyagoyal.

Looking for Volunteers

We are always looking for volunteers to help us with slush-reading, graphic-design, social-media engagement or other aspects of running the zine. If helping with this project sounds interesting to you, don't hesitate to get in touch at [email protected]
